Prince Harry Apparently Had His Heart Set on Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton Being Best Friends
British royal family expert Katie Nicholl says that Prince Harry really really really wanted Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton to be best friends.
While the feud rumors between Kate and Meghan aren't legit, the sisters-in-law didn't exactly become besties like Harry had hoped. Womp womp.
When Meghan Markle joined the family, everyone was hoping she and Kate Middleton would become a dream team to rival Meghan and Harry themselves. Oh wait sorry, when I say "everyone," I actually just mean Prince Harry.
The prince apparently had his whole heart set on a Meghan-Kate best friendship for the ages, but, well, that didn't happen. If you're wondering why, please turn toward allllll those raging feud rumors, and that one Princess Charlotte pre-wedding fitting that went disastrously.
Royal expert Katie Nicholl told Glamour just as much, but she clarified that while Meghan and Kate aren't exactly wearing friendship bracelets, they aren't in a full-blown fight either. So take that, feud rumors!
“I think this idea of there being a catfight between the two duchesses has made tantalizing headlines, but I don’t think believe that,” she said.
“I’ve never heard from my sources that there has ever been a feud or a falling out. I had heard about an upset over the dress fitting for Princess Charlotte. And I had heard that while Harry was very keen for the two of them to become best friends, there was never that sort of a friendship.”
Best friends, they are not. But sisters-in-law? Sure, why not.
“They quite quickly realized they were two pretty mature women-quite different women-and really the only thing they had in common was they’d married princes," Katie added. "Not just Prince Harry, I think probably the world wanted them to become best friends.”

Well, obviously the whole world wanted them to be friends. They'd be like the friend version of a power couple. Alas, it wasn't meant to be, but at least there doesn't seem to be much animosity between them.
But a feud between Kate and her "rural rival" Rose Hanbury? TBD...
