Prince Harry Is Following in Meghan Markle's Footsteps with a TV Project
Prince Harry is beefing up his post-royal resume — and his latest project shows Meghan Markle's Hollywood experience has clearly rubbed off on him.
According to CNN, Prince Harry has recorded the introduction to a special edition of an animated children's program about Thomas the Tank Engine, which celebrates its 75th anniversary this year. The program is dropping on Netflix on Friday, and airs the following day in the U.K. on Channel 5 Milkshake!, and will be available in more than 180 countries this year.
The special episode, titled "Thomas & Friends: The Royal Engine," also features animations of the Queen and Prince Charles as a child. CNN reports that Prince Harry recorded his introduction in January, before leaving the U.K. with Meghan and Archie.
"Thomas the Tank Engine has been a comforting, familiar face to so many families over the last 75 years — entertaining, educating and inspiring children on important issues through exciting stories and characters," he said in a statement obtained by CNN. "I certainly have fond memories of growing up with Thomas & Friends and being transported to new places through his adventures."
His latest move follows Meghan's first post-royal project narrating a documentary for Disney+.
Harry has also announced his first major project since stepping down from his responsibilities as a senior royal: a venture called HeadFIT, which encourages military personnel to seek help for mental health issues.
"I’ve long believed the military community should lead the way for the rest of society. For too long we have been waiting for problems to arise and then reacting to them," he said in a statement. "HeadFIT is a proactive approach to mental fitness, focusing on our own potential to increase our performance, using proven methods in sport science."
