Prince Harry Gave Meghan Markle Her New Eternity Ring as an Anniversary Gift
Meghan Markle debuted a new diamond eternity band on her ring finger during Trooping the Colour this Saturday, leading some to speculate it may have been a push present from Prince Harry following the birth of their first child, Archie. But in reality, it was an anniversary gift from the Duke of Sussex, ELLE.com was told by a Royal source.
The couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary on May 19, just days after their son Archie was born on May 6.
The Duchess of Cambridge also has a similar eternity ring, which she got from Prince William after the birth of Prince George. After the birth of Princess Charlotte, Kate was given a pair of earrings.
Meghan's Trooping the Colour appearance comes one month after his birth and during the middle of her maternity leave. She will return to work this fall.
During the royal family event, the Duchess of Sussex paid homage to her wedding dress designer, Clare Waight Keller of Givenchy, by wearing a navy design by her with a matching hat by Noel Stewart. Her sister-in-law Kate Middleton also paid tribute to her own wedding dress designer, wearing a yellow dress with Alexander McQueen. The two rode in the same carriage for the first time ever this year alongside Prince Harry and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall.
There is a possibility that the Duchess of Sussex could make an appearance at Wimbledon to support her friend Serena Williams later this summer before she returns to royal work later this year. Meghan attended the event last year with Kate.
In the meantime, Harry and Meghan, who shortly before the birth of their son moved into their new home at Frogmore Cottage, a stone's throw from Windsor Castle, where they were married, couldn’t be happier. “This is how you want the man that your best friend is with to look at her. It's really lovely,” a friend shared.
