Prince Harry Hints at Desire to Move Back to the UK

Could Prince Harry and Meghan Markle be moving back to the United Kingdom?
Given the family's most recent statements, the idea doesn't seem to be entirely out of the question.
"It was with great sadness to both of us that my wife and I felt forced to step back from this role and leave the country in 2020," he shared in a statement read by his attorney at a court hearing to challenge a ruling regarding his right to protection on Thursday, Dec.7, per ITV. "The U.K. is my home. The U.K. is central to the heritage of my children and a place I want them to feel at home as much as where they live at the moment in the United States."
He added, "That cannot happen if there is no possibility to keep them safe when they are on U.K. soil."
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved from the U.K. to Canada before eventually settling in California. Though any concrete plans to move back across the pond have yet to be confirmed, his family's safety remains his number one priority.
"I can't put my wife in danger like that, and given my experiences in life, I'm reluctant to unnecessarily put myself in harm's way too," the 39-year-old father of two shared, seemingly referencing Aug. 31, 1997 paparazzi car chase that killed his mother,Princess Diana, and her boyfriend, Dodi Fayed, while in Paris following a vacation to St. Tropez.
Though the duke and duchess currently don't have any plans to move back, it does appear as though they've been working on mending their relationships with the rest of the royal family. For instance, Prince Harry even attended King Charles' coronation ceremony this past May.
In 2022, the duo was officially evicted from their residence at Frogmore Cottage, nearly two years after they stepped down as senior royals. Since doing so, they later confirmed they would not be returning as working members at Buckingham Palace and lost their taxpayer-funded security detail.
Prince Harry has actively been trying to reinstate his automatic right to police protection while in the United Kingdom.
