  • Prince Harry is helping spearhead a new program called HeadFIT, designed to support military personnel and veterans' mental and physical health.

  • "HeadFIT is a proactive approach to mental fitness, focusing on our own potential to increase our performance, using proven methods in sport science," said the Duke of Sussex in a statement.

Prince Harry is helping launch a new platform designed to help army personnel and veterans be more proactive with maintaining their mental and physical health.

The digital program, called HeadFIT, is a partnership between the Heads Together mental health campaign and the Ministry of Defence. Designed specifically with Britain's Defence community in mind, it provides around-the-clock access to self-help tools meant to enhance the mood, drive, and confidence of the military community, while also promoting tools such as breathing exercises, body posture, and relaxation techniques that can be easily integrated into everyday life.

"HeadFIT has been almost three years in the making, and I am extremely grateful for everyone who has been on this journey with us. Everyone who has worked on it, to create what we have today, should be incredibly proud and excited for the impact it will have," said the Duke of Sussex in a released statement. "I've long believed the military community should lead the way for the rest of society. For too long we have been waiting for problems to arise and then reacting to them. HeadFIT is a proactive approach to mental fitness, focusing on our own potential to increase our performance, using proven methods in sport science."

According to an official press release, HeadFIT was created with input from real defense personnel. The platform will be available to the public at large, and it will also be accessible on Ministry of Defence-specific technology such as Defence Connect and DefNet. HeadFIT was originally set to be released in June, but is currently under evaluation by King's College London and being tested ahead of its release.

"This is about optimisation of self. This is about being the best you can be. This is about gaining an advantage, whether facing an opponent or overcoming a challenging situation," continued Harry regarding the new program. "This is about building resilience that will match that of most world class athletes and prepare you for every day stress. To be HeadFIT, is to be at your peak performance."

The project hits close to home for Harry, who served in the army himself for ten years. Many of the charities he focuses on in his royal career are centered on veterans and members of the armed forces, like the Endeavour Fund and the Invictus Games.
