Prince Harry made a surprise appearance at the 2024 NFL Honors on Thursday in Las Vegas. The Duke of Sussex presented the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award to Pittsburgh Steelers star Cameron Heyward.

“All you guys do on and off the field is truly remarkable,” the prince said in a brief speech. “You are role models for millions in the way you carry yourselves and the way you give back. This final award — the highest honor — is all about serving your community. And there’s one special man we’d like to pay tribute to now. A player who goes above and beyond and whose extraordinary commitment to helping others is a reflection of his own story.”
Harry recently returned from a trip across the pond, where he visited his father, King Charles III. Britain’s reigning monarch was recently diagnosed with cancer, a statement from Buckingham Palace last week revealed.
Last month, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, attended the premiere of “Bob Marley: One Love” in Jamaica. He sported the same color scheme of navy and white, while the Duchess of Sussex opted for a black bodysuit and a taffeta Carolina Herrera maxiskirt.
The Sussexes have also gotten into the film business, signing a $100 million deal with Netflix in 2020. After releasing their autobiographical docuseries series “Harry & Meghan,” they debuted “Heart of Invictus,” another docuseries following competitors at the annual Invictus Games, a sporting event that Prince Harry founded for wounded and injured servicemen and women in 2014. The couple’s deal with the streamer extends through 2025.
Stars including Janelle Monáe, Issa Rae and Gayle King were in attendance at the NFL Honors. The annual ceremony celebrates the best football players and performances of the year. Held ahead of the Super Bowl, the NFL Honors take place in the game’s host city.
The Kansas City Chiefs will face off against the San Francisco 49ers at the 57th annual Super Bowl on Sunday. Usher will headline this year’s halftime show. Country star Reba McEntire has been tapped to sing the national anthem, while Post Malone will perform “America the Beautiful.”
