Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Celebrate Archie's First Birthday with a Sweet Video
Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor is officially one year old—and to celebrate their son's milestone, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have released a new video of the Duchess of Sussex reading Duck! Rabbit! to Archie. The clever picture book by Amy Krouse Rosenthal is understood to be one of Archie's favorite stories.
The recording, which was taken by Prince Harry and published this morning on the Save with Stories Instagram account, is part of Save the Children's campaign to support kids who have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, as well as provide educational entertainment for parents homeschooling their children right now.
It's been quite an eventful first year for Archie: first residing at Frogmore Cottage, Harry and Meghan's residence in Windsor; then moving across an ocean to enjoy some time on Canada's Victoria Island; and finally, settling into the Southern California life in Los Angeles.
In the meantime, he's experienced his first snow (Prince Harry said his son found the flurries to be "bloody brilliant!"), reportedly begun teething (the same source told People that he was a "happy baby" and "cute," unsurprisingly), and "started trying to walk" (as Meghan told a fan during one of her final royal engagements in March).
Of course, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have also had a big year. After announcing their intention to step back from their royal roles in January, they first had to work with their fellow royals to create a plan for their transition and hash out an arrangement for their future. It's been a little over a month since that new arrangement took effect, and myriad questions remain about how Harry and Meghan plan to navigate their future—but hopefully, fans will still get plenty of Archie photos.
