Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Celebrate Women’s History Month with Major Announcement

1 min read

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are kicking off Women’s History Month with a timely announcement.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are using the Archewell Foundation to recognize stellar non-profit organizations. Their foundation is giving grants to four worthy groups: The Center on Poverty and Inequality, National Women’s Law Center, The 19th and Smart Works.

The goal is to recognize those who are doing their part in bettering the community. The website reads, “Archewell Foundation is announcing a number of non-profit investments in leading organizations working to advance gender equity, build policies that empower women and families, ensure meaningful media representation for women, and provide women with a network of tools and support for gaining employment.”

All four of the organizations represent Archewell’s mission, which is geared toward uniting people through impact-driven projects. First, The Center on Poverty and Inequality (Georgetown University Law Center) is expanding “its work recognizing and cultivating Black girls’ leadership, reducing discriminatory school discipline, and strengthening trauma-informed practices so that girls can heal and thrive.”

Next, there’s the National Women’s Law Center, which raises awareness about gender justice and economic equality. The 19th is “a groundbreaking independent, nonprofit newsroom that reports on gender, politics and policy.” And lastly, Markle has been a patron of Smart Works since 2019. The organization provides women with support and resources to help them achieve their full potential.

We can’t wait to see what’s next for the Archewell Foundation.
