Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Are Going to Mexico
Before they embark on their honeymoon, Meghan and Harry might be making another trip altogether. They reportedly plan to visit her father in Mexico soon, as he's recovering from heart surgery.
"I hear one of the things they want to do sooner than later, and now that they're married, is to go and see Thomas Markle, who is recovering from a heart operation," Royal expert Katie Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight. "We don't know when this trip might happen.... I'm hearing from people close to Meghan and Harry that they're very keen to do it."
Prince Harry reportedly feels strongly about meeting his father-in-law for the first time, and Meghan has been worried about his health.
"[Prince Harry] feels it's very important that he gets to meet Thomas," she said. "Of course, Meghan, who's been really concerned about her father's health, is keen to go see him as soon as possible."
After reports came out that Thomas staged paparazzi photos, he decided he wouldn't go to the wedding, then changed his mind and said he'd be there, then changed his mind for the last time, and said he couldn't attend because he had to have heart surgery. Meghan confirmed as much in the official statement she released before the wedding.
Thomas watched the ceremony from afar, and told TMZ he was upset he couldn't be there. "The service was beautiful and it's history" he said. "I will always regret not being able to be there and not being able to hold my daughter's hand."
"My baby girl is a duchess and I love her so much. When you watch your child get married, every thought goes through your mind, every memory from the first day she was born, the first time I held her."
He also said he hopes his other relatives will "shut up about everything." Cheers to that!
