It's been a while since we last saw Prince Harry and Meghan Markle pose for a portrait—but they just took their first official photo since stepping down as senior royals for an upcoming special event. According to Us Weekly, photographer Matt Sayles snapped a black-and-white image of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from their Montecito, California, home for their Time100 Talks appearance. The pair looked happy and casual as Meghan smiled while leaning on Prince Harry's leg.
The duo will host the television special episode on October 20, alongside other noteworthy guests, including Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, Rappler CEO Maria Ressa, and the hosts of the "Teenager Therapy" podcast—which the royal couple appeared on this October.

This marks one of the last official engagements Prince Harry and Meghan will take on this year, since they are planning to take a break from their busy schedules come the holidays—but their plans to visit their royal family overseas is still in the works. "Global travel has been made very complicated by the coronavirus pandemic and at the moment the Duke has no plans to travel back to the United Kingdom, certainly not before Christmas," a source shared with The Daily Mail.
Though they certainly miss their relatives in the United Kingdom, the family of three time is looking forward to spending and celebrating the Christmas holiday with Meghan's loved ones. "Meghan very much wants to host the first Christmas at their new home with her mum," a source added. "She's really excited and is planning on doing all the traditions she grew up with as a child, including the cooking."
