Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s Next Joint Appearance Is Happening *Really* Soon in NYC
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are preparing to make their first joint in-person appearance since welcoming their daughter, Lilibet.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will reportedly travel to New York to attend Global Citizen Live from Central Park, which will take place on September 25 on the Great Lawn. The event will not only raise awareness about vaccine equity, but it will also feature live performances from artists like Coldplay and Jennifer Lopez.
The NYC get-together is just one of many that are set to take place around the world. According to People, Global Citizen Live from Central Park is joining “a 24-hour broadcast from cities around the world calling on G7 countries and the European Union to share at least 1 billion COVID-19 vaccine doses with those most in need and support calls for a waiver on COVID-19 vaccine intellectual property rights.”
We’re not totally surprised by the news, especially since Prince Harry and Markle have been long-time supporters of Global Citizen. Earlier this year, the royals shared a heartfelt statement in support of VAX Live: The Concert to Reunite the World.
“Over the past year, our world has experienced pain, loss and struggle—together. Now we need to recover and heal—together,” they said. “We can’t leave anybody behind. We will all benefit, we will all be safer, when everyone, everywhere has equal access to the vaccine. We must pursue equitable vaccine distribution and, in that, restore faith in our common humanity. The mission couldn’t be more critical or important.”
Still, one question remains: Will Prince Harry and Markle bring Archie and Lili to New York?
