Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s trip to Düsseldorf, Germany may have had an extra itinerary added on after the couple reportedly made a pit stop in Portugal. Royal fans know very well that Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, live part-time in the country, so it sounds like there was a family reunion.

A Portuguese media outlet, Nova Gente, shared that the dynamic duo kept their rest and relaxation vacation off the radar. They decided that a “romantic getaway” was in order after the hustle and bustle of their successful Invictus Games event. They traveled to Melides, in the Alentejo area, which is a spot favored by Eugenie — and it just so happens that Jack works at the Costa Terra Golf & Ocean Club nearby. It wouldn’t be surprising to hear that Harry and Meghan enjoyed some quiet time with their two closest royal allies at the luxury resort.
Even though the two couples are worlds apart these days after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to California, a royal source told People that Harry and Eugenie are “still the best of friends and talk constantly.” Despite the ongoing family feud, Eugenie and her sister, Princess Beatrice, have been largely supportive of Harry and Meghan because they “understand and live the royal machine.” That bond was even noted in Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand’s book, Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family.
