Prince Harry and Meghan Markle show PDA during first public outing together
On Friday, just a few days after announcing their engagement, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had their first public outing together. The couple visited the city of Nottingham and were photographed meeting members of the public before visiting two projects focused on HIV/AIDS and youth crime. Over the past few years, Harry has been carrying on the work of his late mother, Princess Diana, who was a champion for those suffering from the disease.
Unlike the Duchess of Cambridge was before she became a royal, Markle is used to charity work thanks to her celebrity status. She’s a regular speaker at the United Nations on women’s topics and has worked as a representative for Canadian charity World Vision.
For the occasion, Markle wore a double-breasted, navy blue wool coat by Canadian label Mackage. Underneath, the former actress kept warm with a turtleneck and cream skirt, finishing off the winter-ready ensemble with a pair of heeled boots and a tri-tone leather Strathberry bag costing $613. Harry chose a similar hued overcoat worn over his usual smart suit.
The couple didn’t hide their affection during the outing, having been pictured holding hands and wrapping their arms around each other on multiple occasions.
As for the couple’s wedding date? Reports say that Harry and Meghan will marry on May 26 so that the nation can have a three-day celebration thanks to the holiday. Kensington Palace has yet to confirm a specific date but did say the nuptials will take place that month.
