Their rousing performance at Harry and Meghan’s royal wedding last May transfixed millions worldwide and propelled them to global stardom. And now the Kingdom Choir is bringing its music directly to audiences across the pond with their first-ever North America tour.

The 16-person choir will perform in 29 venues across the U.S. and Canada on their two-month tour, which will take place from September 6 to November 9. Opening in Las Vegas at the Sammy Davis Jr. Festival Plaza, the schedule will then take their music to concert halls, churches, opera houses, and chapels across the country. Venues include Los Angeles’s Hollywood Bowl, the Bronx’s Sheldon Concert Hall, and Nashville’s Polk Theater.

"What is truly wonderful is that we now have a global platform to take our music to people all faiths and none," says Kingdom Choir conductor Karen Gibson, who founded the group.

"For me, the message of gospel music—that of love, hope and inspiration—has always been relevant to everyone. It can bring peace and healing to individuals and communities suffering some of the noise and divisions of modern social and political life."

The group will be performing gospel anthems from their debut album, named "Stand By Me" after the Ben E. King song that captivated Harry and Meghan’s wedding guests. Other songs include the lullaby they wrote for the couple’s son Archie, and they also plan to debut some new material.

The tour follows a whirlwind 18 months for the group since Karen received a phone call from a member of Prince Charles’s staff asking if they would like to perform at the wedding. A major record deal followed and their album went straight to Number 1 on the Billboard Gospel Songs Chart when it was released in October 2018.

In spring 2019, the choir completed a U.K. tour of 22 dates, which concluded in a performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London on the first anniversary of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding.

"Everything changed after the royal wedding," former government IT worker Karen says. "The weird part is that I am living the same life I’ve always lived. I go to the same supermarket. I’m making the same music. I’m ordinary. But somehow it feels I’m not."
