Prince Harry Plans to Attend Prince Philip's Funeral, but Meghan Has Been Advised Not to Travel

From Town & Country

Prince Harry will be at Prince Philip's funeral, to say a final goodbye to his beloved grandfather. This morning, the royal family confirmed that Prince Harry would be flying from California to the UK for the memorial service, but his wife Meghan will not be coming with him. Town & Country understands that the Duchess of Sussex made efforts to travel alongside Harry to the UK, but she did not receive medical clearance from her physician. Meghan is currently pregnant with her second child. During the Sussexes' interview with Oprah earlier this spring, the couple confirmed they are expecting a girl, and she is expected to arrive sometime this summer.

Prince Harry will be following COVID-19 protocols for his travel to and from the U.K. as well as during his time in the country.

Prince Philip passed away on April 9 at the age of 99. "It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen announces the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh," reads a statement released by the royal family, confirming the sad news.

"His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle. Further announcements will be made in due course. The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss."

Harry and Meghan have not officially released a statement about Philip's death; the family's tribute speaks for them as well, but on Friday, their charity Archewell posted a memorial to the Duke of Edinburgh on its homepage.

It reads, "In loving memory of His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh 1921-2021 Thank you for all your service...you will be greatly missed."
