Prince William and Prince Harry Will Put Their Differences Aside on Princess Diana's Death Anniversary
To honor Princess Diana on the 22nd anniversary of her death, Prince William and Prince Harry will reportedly put aside their differences to remember their late mother.
William and Harry will also discuss ways to continue their charitable efforts.
August 31, 1997 will forever be a sad day in British royal history. You might not have been born yet, or you might have been just a young child when it happened, but this day has left a lasting impact on the entire world. On August 31, 22 years ago, Princess Diana died in a hospital after sustaining injuries from a fatal car crash while traveling in Paris. It may have happened over two decades ago, but the loss of Diana can still be felt today, especially by the two sons she left behind—Prince William and Prince Harry.
Though things between the Cambridges and the Sussexes have allegedly been rocky as of late, Harry and William will put aside their differences to honor their late mother's memory, like they do every year. According to an Us Weekly royal source, each year Harry and William spend the day together, looking back fondly on the moments they had with their mother.
Harry and William will reportedly get together over lunch or dinner at London's Kensington Palace. “They talk about the little things about Diana that made them laugh: the ski trips and outings to Thorpe Park [a British amusement park]; the effort she went to on their birthdays...all of it,” the insider said. Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle, and the kids will “join them later,” the source added.
For most of the day, William and Harry will share their memories of their mother. But while they make it a point to honor Diana's memory, they also brainstorm ways in which they can move her charitable efforts forward. “They always discuss Diana’s charity work and brainstorm ways they can continue her legacy,” the source said. “Helping others and being a role model to those less fortunate is at the top of their priority list.”
