Prince Harry and Prince William’s Rift Is “One of the Main Reasons” the Sussexes Are Skipping Royal Christmas
Sources say Prince Harry's rift with Prince William is the reason Harry and Meghan Markle aren't spending Christmas at Sandringham.
Buckingham Palace said in a statement, "This decision is in line with precedent set previously by other members of the Royal Family."
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are doing Christmas a little differently this year and spending it with Meghan's mom Doria Ragland. Which, to be clear, is perfectly fine and normal, and shouldn't be a big deal! But because it's ~tradition~ for the royals to join Queen Elizabeth at Sandringham for the holidays, the internet is somewhat ?? about the whole thing—especially in light of Prince Harry's "rift" with Prince William.
While the Palace released a statement confirming Meghan and Harry's plans and tried to downplay them by saying "This decision is in line with precedent set previously by other members of the Royal Family and has the support of Her Majesty The Queen," sources say there's more to the story.
According to a source who spoke with Us Weekly, “Harry and Meghan are having a small Christmas with just immediate family instead of spending it at Sandringham. The rift between William and Harry is one of the main reasons behind their decision. As it’s Archie’s first Christmas, they want it to be super special. It’ll be just Doria and the three of them.”
The source added that "The drama surrounding the couple has caused a huge amount of stress. They’re making their family their No. 1 priority right now.” Reminder: Harry himself seemingly confirmed the rift with William during an interview, so head this way for that whole thing.
