Prince Harry Says California Is Home "For the Time Being"
In a new interview with Hoda Kotb, Prince Harry is opening up about life in California with Meghan Markle, and their two children: Archie and Lili.
In 2020, the Sussexes officially stepped back from their senior royal roles, and moved to North America. Now, a little more than two years later, Prince Harry says Santa Barbara has become his home—at least for now.
“You know, home—home for me, now, is, you know, for the time being, in the states,” he tells Kotb in a preview clip released from sit-down interview, which will air tomorrow on the Today show. “We’ve been welcomed with open arms,” he says, sharing that he's “got such a great community up in Santa Barbara.”
Last week, Harry and Meghan made their first trip together to the UK since they left in March of 2020. (Prince Harry notably has traveled back to England twice since then on his own—once for Prince Philip's funeral, and another time to unveil a statue of Princess Diana alongside his brother Prince William.)
The Sussexes traveled to Windsor to visit with the Queen, and in the Today show interview, Harry reveals that he and Meghan had tea with his grandmother—and in keeping with tradition, he made the Queen laugh. “Being with her, it was great,” Harry said of the British monarch, who is set to turn 96 this week.
“She’s always got a great sense of humor with me,” he continued. “It was just so nice to see her … She’s on great form.”
