The royal events just keep pouring in this summer. Nearly two months after his birth, Kensington Palace has announced that Prince Louis, the third and youngest child of Prince William and Kate Middleton, will be christened on July 9.

The baptism will take place at the Chapel Royal of St James’s Palace in London, where Louis' late grandmother Princess Diana's body was laid before her funeral in 1997. Meghan Markle was also reportedly secretly baptized there in March ahead of marrying Prince Harry. The baby prince will be christened by The Archbishop of Canterbury.

It's been a while since we've seen Prince Louis, who was born on April 23. He was missing from recent royal events such as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's wedding and Trooping the Colour, though the rest of his family attended.

Though the infant hasn't made a public appearance since leaving the hospital the day he was born, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge did share new photos of him following Princess Charlotte's third birthday weeks later.

However, Louis still hasn't been officially photographed with big brother, five-year-old Prince George. Perhaps on the christening, we may finally see all three royal tots together for the first time.

The baptism could also mark a rare public appearance for the Duchess of Cambridge, who's also been out of the spotlight lately, due to maternity leave. (Though she was at Trooping the Colour and the royal wedding, she wasn't at Prince Charles' garden party, Garter Day, or the Royal Ascot yesterday.)

"It is traditional for new royal mums to take a six-month break from official engagements," royal biographer, Duncan Larcombe previously told BAZAAR.com. "The wedding doesn’t count because it was a 'family affair' but other than that, she will pick and choose her engagements."
