Will Prince Philip Attend the Royal Wedding (Just 6 Weeks After Surgery)? We Finally Have an Answer
Hip surgery isn’t going to stop Prince Philip from getting down on the dance floor in honor of the soon-to-be newlyweds (or at least sitting near the dance floor).
Buckingham Palace just confirmed that the prince will attend his grandson, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle’s wedding on May 19, at St. George’s Chapel. *Breathes sigh of relief*
The announcement was a long time coming, considering Prince Philip was admitted to the hospital for hip surgery last month. In early April, the palace released a statement confirming the operation was a success, saying, “The Duke of Edinburgh has undergone a successful hip replacement operation. He is progressing satisfactorily at this early stage.”
Two weeks ago, a palace spokesperson announced that the royal family “very much hope” the prince will be well enough to attend the nuptials. Nevertheless, his RSVP was up in the air…until now.
Phew, that was down to the wire.
