Prince William Admits He Always Loses to Kate Middleton When It Comes to Tennis
Prince William might be a multi-talented royal, but that doesn’t mean he excels at everything. In fact, the Duke of Cambridge, 37, recently shared the one sport his wife, Kate Middleton, is better at.
This week, retired tennis star Rod Laver opened up about the interactions he’s had with Prince William and Middleton, who is apparently a rockstar on the court.
“I’d met William and Kate a few times, and in the Royal Box you get a chance to chat with them a little bit,” he told The Daily Mail, referring to the VIP suite where royals and celebs sit during tennis matches.
During the conversation, Prince William explained that he and Middleton are tennis enthusiasts. Although they regularly play against each other, the royal admitted that his wife is always victorious.
“They play tennis against each other,” Laver added. “William told me he couldn’t beat her.”
This isn’t the first time the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have engaged in a friendly competition. Back in 2017, Middleton showed off her competitive side when she challenged Prince William to a boat race during their royal tour of Poland and Germany. That same year, they also ran a foot race at the London Marathon Community Track alongside Prince Harry.
