Prince William and Kate Middleton Looked Festive for the Royal Variety Performance
'Tis the season for festive dressing, and when it comes to getting all done up for holiday events, nobody does it quite like the royal family. Last month, Prince William and Kate Middleton attended the annual Royal Variety Performance event at Royal Albert Hall, which supports the Royal Variety Charity to help entertainers in need. And while it wasn't quite December yet when they enjoyed the performance, they were nonetheless dressed with festive spirit for the holiday-themed show.
For the occasion, William donned a classic tuxedo in navy velvet with bowtie, while Kate opted for a long-sleeved evergreen gown positively dripping with sparkles. Ever the savvy shopper of her own closet, the gown also happens to be a look she's worn before—a Jenny Packham number that she also sported during her and William's royal tour of Pakistan back in 2019.
Though it's been a few weeks since the event itself, we're getting another look at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's style of the evening, now thanks to the fact that the show debuted on TV in the UK over the weekend. Including performances by stars like Ed Sheeran, Rod Stewart, Elvis Costello, James Blunt, the Some Voices choir, and more, and hosted by British TV personality Alan Carr, this year's show marked the Royal Variety Charity's centenary event, with the first involving Queen Elizabeth's grandfather King George V in 1921. The charity supports members of the entertainment industry with grants and programs, and even runs its own home for retired members of the performance community.
