Kensington Palace released a new family portrait of Prince William, Kate Middleton and their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte on Monday morning - the photo the family will be using on their 2017 Christmas cards. Courtesy of royal photographer Chris Jackson, the Palace noted that the shot was "taken earlier this year" with no date specified - though it's worth noting it's not particularly festive, so was presumably taken before any holiday sweaters (or ties!) were on sale. (Unlike the family's 2015 Christmas card, there's no signs of possible Photoshop either.) And for what it's worth, both George and Charlotte's outfits match what they wore when they visited Poland on July 17th with their folks on a royal tour:

Maybe Wills and Kate just liked these outfits though, who knows?! As The Daily Mail notes, after all, the "matching powder blue ensembles" are on point. (It does seem clear that the photo was taken before KMid began to show any signs, morning sickness perhaps notwithstanding, of her third pregnancy.)

The Palace also used the occasion to confirm that Princess Charlotte will start nursery next month, and that she will be attending Willcocks Nursery School in London. Charlotte's older brother began nursery two years ago at Westacre Montessori School in Norfolk, England (near the family's country estate, Amner Hall). This should mean there's another adorable photo coming soon to mark the occasion, a la this:

I for one hope that Charlotte gets a Peppa Pig backpack for her big day. The only other question that remains, then: will Harry and Meghan have a holiday photoshoot to debut also?!
