Prince William Officially Speaks Out About Theories Surrounding Kate Middleton's Health
Princess Kate and Prince William
After Kate Middleton was seen in public for the first time since her abdominal surgery in January, her husband, Prince William shared a response to the situation and the public's continued concern for the Princess and her health.
As conspiracy theories run rampant about Kate, William has maintained a presence in public and made many appearances as she continues to focus on recovery. Finally responding to the concerns, a rep for William simply told People, "His focus is on his work and not on social media."
The short response from William's spokesperson comes not long after a rep for Kate said in a statement, "Kensington Palace made it clear in January the timelines of the princess’ recovery and we’d only be providing significant updates. That guidance stands," referring to the original statement announcing the surgery.
Many were shocked to hear about Kate's health condition when Buckingham Palace announced in January that she had undergone "planned abdominal surgery" and would be recovering in the hospital for around two weeks before continuing to rest at home.
The statement added that Kate "hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private." As a result, there is almost no public information about why Kate needed the surgery or how it went, although the Palace shared a later update saying that she was recovering well.
At the same time, King Charles III is undergoing cancer treatment after sharing the news of his health diagnosis at the start of February. The Palace has not shared what type of cancer he has. In his place, his wife Queen Camilla stepped up to fulfill some of his royal duties as other family members also helped out.
