Prince William & Prince George Wore Nearly Identical Outfits During Latest Royal Appearance

Prince William and Prince George just wore twinning ensembles (and no, this is not a drill).

Earlier today, the Duke of Cambridge, 39, was seen attending a football—soccer, to us Americans—game at Wembley stadium alongside his 7-year-old son and his wife, Kate Middleton. When they arrived at the event, the Cambridge family greeted David Beckham before settling into their seats, where they sang along to the national anthem.

Much to our delight, Prince William and Prince George wore nearly identical outfits, featuring classic suits paired with red, white and blue striped ties. Although the patterns are slightly different (William’s has more red, while George’s has more blue), we applaud the duo for coordinating their dapper looks.

Middleton also supported the U.K.’s team colors by wearing a chic red blazer. She styled her hair in her signature waves.

We’re not totally surprised that Prince William turned the event into a family affair. First, he’s the president of the Football Association, and it’s a very important game. (The match will determine whether England or Germany will advance to the quarterfinals in the European Championships.)

Second, the Duke of Cambridge has spoken out about sport-related issues in the past. Back in April, the royal released an official statement on Twitter, where he addressed the “Super League” that was proposed for Europe’s football teams.

The tweet read, “Now, more than ever, we must protect the entire football community–from the top level to the grassroots–and the values of competition and fairness at its core. I share the concerns of fans about the proposed Super League and the damage it risks causing to the game we love.”
