  • A few royal insiders just spilled the tea on what's going on with Prince William and Prince Harry, and they've reportedly grown apart since Harry got married to Meghan Markle.

  • The idea of the four of them working together didn't work that well, even though people in the palace wanted it to.

Last month, the news broke that Prince Harry and Prince William were officially separating their houses and offices before Harry becomes a dad, and most people took that as another chapter in the "royal feud" that's been dominating headlines for months.

A royal insider just told People palace officials hoped the two brothers could work together for a long time, but after they both got married, it didn't work as well.

“It was only going to work until they married - and it went on a while longer than perhaps was originally thought,” the source said.

Meghan and Harry moved into their new house last week, and it's a full 25 miles from Kate and Will, which was another reason people thought there was a feud happening between the four of them.

Apparently, the whole idea of them being the "Fab Four" was great on paper, but didn't pan out as well IRL.

“It’s a shame,” the source said. “There was power in that unity and great strength in the foursome, but I see why it is happening. There is always that tension: trying to do the PR thing and then realizing that they are just real people. They want their own place and their own things.”

People who know the two brothers know that whatever's going on with them won't last. They're literally best friends.

“There is never any doubt that they will be there for each other 100 percent and support each other when it matters,” one insider said.

“Maybe they’ll come back together a little later,” another said. “It’s another stage in the growing up. Sometimes you have to break away in order to come back.”

RIP to all the iconic Fab Four pics that could have been:
