Prince William Testing Positive for COVID-19 Was “No Secret” in Royal Family
Prince William testing positive for coronavirus was "no secret" among the royal family.
The Queen was worried both Charles and William (her two direct heirs) were sick.
News recently broke that Prince William secretly tested positive for coronavirus in April—around the same time as his father Prince Charles. William is said to have kept his diagnosis secret because he didn't want to "worry people," but Vanity Fair reports that the royal family absolutely knew.
"My understanding was that he was not bed-ridden and actually coped pretty well with the virus, working for most of the time he had it," a source tells the magazine. "It was no secret among the family, but William didn’t want it getting out because he didn’t want to worry the nation."
Another source tells the outlet that the Queen was worried about William and Charles (both direct heirs to the throne) being ill:
"The priority was keeping HMQ shielded and safe, which was thankfully what happened," the source explains. "But of course the Queen was worried for Charles and William and relieved that they suffered only minor symptoms."
Kensington Palace has yet to comment publicly on Prince William testing positive, but The Daily Mail’s Rebecca English tweeted that the Palace confirmed his diagnosis and said Kate Middleton and the royal kids thankfully never came down with the virus.
