Princess Beatrice Was Almost Named Something Completely Different but the Queen Shut It TF Down
Princess Beatrice almost had a completely different name before Queen Elizabeth shut it down.
Her Majesty thought the name was too "yuppie."
Hello there and good day to you, this is Princess Beatrice:
Or, as she's formally known, Princess Beatrice Elizabeth Mary Mountbatten-Windsor of York, granddaughter to Queen Elizabeth. But apparently she almost had a completely different name that Her Majesty shut right the hell down due to literally not liking it.
According to The Sun via The Express, Beatrice was originally going to be called Annabel—which seems like a pretty decent and royal-sounding name? But apparently not because Queen Elizabeth straight-up rejected Annabel due to it sounding too "yuppie." Which honestly might explain why it took two full weeks for the royals to announce Beatrice's name to the public after she was born.
Either way, Beatrice is a pretty solid royal moniker and has a royal connection thanks to being the name of Queen Victoria’s daughter. Meanwhile, Elizabeth is obviously the Queen's name, and Mary is both a royal name and the middle name of Sarah Ferguson's mother. The more you know.
