How Will Princess Beatrice’s Baby Affect the British Line of Succession? We Have Answers

1 min read

By now, you’ve probably heard that Princess Beatrice is expecting her first child with her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. But what you might not know is that the baby’s arrival will be a bittersweet moment for multiple members of the royal family.

Princess Beatrice is currently ninth in line to the throne, but her rank is scheduled to change when Meghan Markle welcomes her second child with Prince Harry. Since the Duchess of Sussex is further along in her pregnancy, she’s expected to give birth first, which will eventually bump Princess Beatrice to number ten in the British line of succession.

Princess Beatrice’s baby makes things even more complicated as he/she takes spot #11. This won’t affect people like Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince George and Prince Harry, who are ranked higher than the royal cherubs. However, it does impact other people.

This includes Princess Beatrice’s sister, Princess Eugenie, and her baby with Jack Brooksbank, August. Although the royals are currently ranked at numbers 10 and 11, respectively, they will be bumped down two spots after the arrivals of baby Sussex and baby Mozzi.

The rest of the lineup will suffer the same fate, including Prince Edward, James (Viscount Severn), Lady Louise Windsor, Princess Anne and Peter Phillips and his children, Savannah and Isla. Not to mention, the entire Tindall family: Mike and Zara, along with their three kids: Mia, Lena and Lucas.
