Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are expecting a child together. Buckingham Palace confirmed the happy news on May 19. While a specific due date was not mentioned, the royal family noted that their new member is expected to arrive this fall.

"Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in autumn of this year," reads the statement. "The Queen has been informed and both families are delighted with the news."

Beatrice's baby will likely be the Queen's 12th great-grandchild, as he or she will arrive after Harry and Meghan's second child, a girl, who is expected to be born this summer. The little one will also be a cousin to Princess Eugenie's son August, who was born earlier this year.

While this is Beatrice and Edo's first child together, Edo has one son, Christopher Woolf, "Wolfie" from a previous relationship with architect and designer Dara Huang. Beatrice is his stepmother, and Wolfie played a key role in his dad's wedding to Princess Beatrice last summer, serving as both page boy and best man.

While Beatrice and Edo had planned for a larger event, they, like so many couples, had to change their plans due to the pandemic, and instead had an extremely intimate ceremony in Windsor that was only attended by those closest to the couple.

"We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to be married," the happy couple said in a statement when they got engaged. "We share so many similar interests and values and we know this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness."
