Princess Diana's Brother Reveals If He'll Attend Charles' Coronation
Charles Spencer, the 9th Earl Spencer, shared whether he'll attend his ex brother-in-law's May coronation.
Settle in for some royal tea.
With there only being two months until King Charles III's coronation, Charles Spencer, the brother of the late Princess Diana, revealed whether or not he'll attend the crowning.
While it may be odd to think that King Charles would invite his ex brother-in-law to the momentous occasion, Spencer could've made the guest list based on his own important peerage title: the 9th Earl Spencer.
Nonetheless, Spencer has made it clear that he has no plans to appear in the crowd at Westminster Abbey on May 6.
"I think we've never had an official role in it, just turned up like everyone else used to, when it was the hereditary peers and the House of Lords," Spencer shared on the Feb. 20 episode of the Off Air… with Jane and Fi podcast. "That's no longer the case. There is some old coronet knocking around somewhere, but I won't be wearing it soon, I don't think."

He further added, "I think it's only about 2,000 people going."
Though fans of the late princess may expect Spencer to feel bitter over King Charles' upcoming big day—the monarch and his ex-wife had a tumultuous divorce that played out in the press before her death in Aug. 1997—the Earl admitted that he doesn't spend too much time thinking about royal life.
"Obviously, I think of Diana every day, in a different context," he noted. "Actually, the whole royal thing, I don't find it as interesting as a lot of people, you know? I just get on with my life."
In regard to his title, the uncle of Prince William and Prince Harry said, "I look after what I have to look after at the estate...People obviously assume that I care a lot about that side of things, but it's just a side part of my life."
