Princess Eugenie is inviting the public to apply to attend her royal wedding
If you missed out on seeing Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tie the knot on May 19, take heart: You’ve got a second chance to scratch “attend royal wedding” off your bucket list.
On Wednesday morning, the British royal family announced that Princess Eugenie and her fiancé, Jack Brooksbank, are inviting 1,200 members of the public to their own royal wedding on Oct. 12 at Windsor Castle.
The bride-to-be’s cousin, Prince Harry, also invited the public — 2,640 in all — to his highly publicized nuptials. Those chosen included citizens who were nominated by regional Lord Lieutenants for their work in their communities, as well as local schoolchildren and people involved in charitable organizations.
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank would like to invite members of the public to join their wedding on 12 October, 2018, to attend inside the Precincts of Windsor Castle.

In the case of Eugenie, who is the daughter or Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, there’s no need to wait for a nomination. Interested parties — and anyone desperate to see Kate Middleton or Meghan in the flesh — can apply via a public ballot. All it takes is filling out a short online form requesting a name, address, and date of birth, and then crossing your fingers.
Of course, being chosen doesn’t guarantee anyone a seat next to the queen. As the royal family Twitter account notes, the lucky guests will be stationed outside, where they can view the guests arriving for the ceremony. Just think of the people-watching!
1,200 members of the public will be able to view the arrival of the congregation and Members of the Royal Family, listen to a live broadcast of the Marriage Service and watch the start of the procession as the couple depart at the end of the Wedding ceremony.
