Princess Eugenie is Planning a "Plastic-Free" Wedding and We Fully Support It
Now that we're less that three months away from Princess Eugenie's October wedding to her fiancé Jack Brooksbank, details like the ceremony venue, Eugenie's maid of honor, and the reception location are starting to be announced. But in the September issue of British Vogue, Eugenie reveals for the first time how she's feeling about her upcoming nuptials and shares the one thing that definitely won't be making an appearance on her big day.
In the interview, Eugenie notes that not only does she keep her house, Ivy Cottage at Kensington Palace, plastic-free, but she'd like her wedding to be, too. "My whole house is anti-plastic now – and Jack and I want our wedding to be like that as well," she said.
Eugenie is passionate about the issue of excess plastic. Earlier this summer, the young royal took to her Instagram account to speak out about the importance of limiting the amount of single-use plastic in our everyday lives.
In the post, Eugenie announced her new role as an ambassador for Project 0, an organization that works to protect and restore the ocean. "Together we aim to inspire people to make sustainable choices to stop the ocean from drowning in plastic," she wrote in the post's caption.
In the new interview with Vogue, Eugenie also shared that she's been making Pinterest boards of cakes, and that she isn't feeling too stressed about walking down the aisle.
"It’s very nerve-wracking because you want it to be perfect but then you realize that you’re going to be with the person you love forever and nothing else really matters," she said.
