"Project Runway" Finalist Mychael Knight Died

Mychael Knight, a fashion designer who competed on Project Runway and Project Runway: All Stars, has died at the age of 39.

During the third season of the reality fashion competition show Project Runway, Knight placed fourth overall but won the Fan Favorite Award. He later introduced his eponymous label at BET's Rip the Runway event, and continued showing through S/S 18:

According to TMZ, Knight had been suffering from gastrointestinal issues, and had shared that his irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) had been affecting his immune system as well.

In a statement to Obvious magazine, run by his friend Jerrod Madison, Knight's family shared:

"We are still processing the untimely death of our son, brother, friend, and uncle. Mychael meant everything to us and we loved him dearly. He was generous and so full of life. This is how we choose to remember his legacy."
