A couple of weeks ago, footage of little Prince Louis and his grandfather Prince Charles meeting for the first time melted our hearts during the BBC documentary Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70.

Since that touching moment, the two have become fast friends, and the proof is in these outtakes from Charles's 70th birthday portraits captured by royal photographer Chris Jackson. The Sunday Times released exclusive snapshots from the adorable photo shoot, in which baby Louis and Charles display their close bond.

On the cover of the magazine, Prince Charles holds baby Louis in his arms, as the pair share a laugh. Meanwhile, in a group shot, Louis reaches for his grandfather's face, garnering a laugh from the rest of the family.

While we don't want to say Prince Charles plays favorites with his grandchildren, it seems like Louis and the future monarch have a very special connection.

However, recently, Charles's eldest son William expressed that he wishes his kids saw more of their grandpa.

"It's something I'm working on heavily. I think he does have time for it, but I would like him to have more time with the children," he said, according to E!. "Having more time with him at home would be lovely — and being able to, you know, play around with the grandchildren. When he is there, he's brilliant, but we need him there as much as possible."
