Original, June 2, 2021: Get ready to online shop until you're mentally exhausted because Amazon Prime Day is happening early this year! The retailer’s biggest shopping event of the year, which usually happens in mid-July, will take place for two days starting Monday, June 21 through Tuesday, June 22.
Last year, Amazon’s Prime Day got delayed because of the pandemic. It was held in October for two days, and some of the most popular buys included Amazon’s Echo Dot, The Lego Star Wars Stormtrooper Helmet, card games, smart light bulbs, coffee beans, mouthwash, red wine, and diapers. During the event, Prime members saved more than $1.4 billion. Not to mention millions of shoppers also supported small businesses, with third-party sellers making more than $3.5 billion on Prime Day.
During Amazon Prime Day this year, you'll be able to score more than 2 million deals on items across all product categories. Whether you're looking for electronics, home appliances, kitchen essentials, or clothing, you're likely to find a deal on something you want or need. Prime members can even start shopping early exclusives and deals right now. Standout savings include Fire TVs starting at $99 and up to 30 percent off Le Creuset cast iron and stoneware products. Plus, there are early deals on robotic vacuums from Shark and Bissel and air purifiers from Levoit and Toshiba.
Starting on June 7 through June 20, Amazon will also offer a $10 credit to use on Prime Day "to members who spend $10 on select small business products and brands based in the U.S. in Amazon’s store, including products from Amazon Handmade and Amazon Launchpad," according to a press release. More than 300,000 sellers are eligible for that promotion.
To further support small businesses, there will be an Amazon Live on June 7 in which customers can shop alongside celebs like Kristen Bell, Karamo Brown, and Mindy Kaling. They'll be joined by some of their favorite small business owners to discuss their products and stories. On Prime Day, shoppers can also hear directly from sellers to learn more about their work and deals during a recurring Small Business Showcase segment.
If you're afraid of missing stellar deals, you can easily turn on notifications for when they go live. You can also discover deals using Alexa. If you prefer to seek them out yourself, you can stay up to date on the Prime Day deals coming later this month here. In the meantime, make a checklist of everything you'll need during those two days: a charged computer, a list of items you've been eyeing, maybe some snacks, and, of course, an Amazon Prime membership!
We'll keep you posted as more deals are announced, but for now: Mark your calendars!
