Publix Wouldn't Let This Mom Put 'Cum' On A Cake
Publix is a grocery store chain from Lakeland, Florida, with locations all over the south. And while they make a damn fine sub sandwich, their custom cake department still has room for improvement.
According to the Washington Post, Cara Koscinski, a mother in Charleston, South Carolina, wanted to celebrate a monumental achievement for her son, who graduated high school with a 4.79 grade point average-enough to qualify for the honor of "summa cum laude," a Latin term meaning "With Highest Praise."
You probably get where this is going!
Ordering the cake online from her local Publix, she entered a custom message for the frosting: "Congrats Jacob! Summa Cum Laude class of 2018."
Publix's system, built with AI designed by your parents, detected and deleted the unspeakable filth-Latin, for "with"-and "Summa Cum Laude" became "Summa --- Laude." And despite filling out a "special instructions" form where Koscinski attempted to clarify the difference between the honor roll and Pornhub, she was overruled. The cake arrived as God intended:
While Koscinski claims her son was "absolutely humiliated," I'm guessing that was more about his mom talking about "cum" with ABC News and the Post than a hilarious mixup he'll remember for the rest of his life.
