Puma Unveils Scoot Henderson’s Debut Sneaker, the Scoot Zeros

Today, Puma is pulling back the curtain on Scoot Henderson‘s first signature sneaker, the Scoot Zeros.

The Portland Trailblazers point guard and third pick in the 2023 NBA Draft is just the 10th player to ever get their own sneaker during their rookie year, with Lonzo Ball being the most recent. Ball’s model came from his family’s Big Baller Brand, but to find a rookie who got their own shoe from one of the footwear giants, you have to go all the way back to LeBron James and his Nike Air Zoom Generation from 2003.

The Puma Scoot Zeros features a “high-rebound” Profoam EVA in its midsole, as well as a reinforced Formstrip for durability with an aggressive profile. Matching the primary brand hit are Jaws rubber “wrap-ups” that extend from the outsole as if they’re biting the shoe’s upper. Another, smaller Formstrip appears on the medial heel to go along with a tiny Puma logo on the heel pull. Rounding out the branding is an “S” logo for Scoot on the tongue.

A “Georgia Peach” colorway decorates the Scoot Zeros for its launch and takes inspiration from Henderson’s home state of Georgia, much like Anthony Edwards’ launch colorway for his debut sneaker, the Adidas AE 1.

“I’m excited to finally share the Scoot Zeros “Georgia Peach” with the world,” Henderson said in a press release. “To me, Zeros symbolizes new beginnings and reminds me that each day we have the opportunity to reset, learn, create, embrace, and overcome. My signature shoe not only represents a fresh start for me, but I hope it inspires all players to overcome and strive for greatness both on and off the court.”

Henderson previously received his own colorway for Puma’s All-Pro Nitro, which released over the summer.
