Quad Con, outdoor concerts and more: Here are 5 things to do near Peoria this weekend

July is full of activities. Here are five events you might want to check out in the Peoria area this weekend.

Five Points Fridays in Washington

The outdoor live music series Five Points Fridays will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 12, at Five Points Washington, 360 N. Wilmor Road, Washington. The event will include live music from Captain Quirk, food trucks, kids activities and more. This free event is open to the public. Make sure to bring your lawn chairs or blankets.

Theater in the park

Corn Stock Theatre kicks off its run of Lionel Bart's "Oliver!" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 12, in Upper Bradley Park, 1700 N. Park Road. The show will run through July 20, with performances at 7:30 each evening. Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for students ages 18 and under.

Quad Con at Peoria Civic Center

Celebrate all things pop culture at Quad Con, taking place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 13, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 14, at the Peoria Civic Center. The event will feature over 200 vendors, artists, panels, cosplay contests, video game tournaments and more. Featured guests, WWE Hall of Famer Jake "The Snake" Roberts and voice actor Jim Cummings (Winnie the Pooh, Darkwing Duck), will be in attendance for autographs and photos. Admission is $20 for a weekend pass, $15 for Saturday only or $10 for Sunday only.

Way Down Wanderers in concert

The Way Down Wanderers will perform their annual homecoming show on Saturday, July 13, at CEFCU Center Stage on the Peoria riverfront. The show will also feature special guest T Biscuit. Doors open at 7 p.m. and performances begin at 8:15 p.m. Admission is $14.99 and prices will increase on the day of the event. For tickets and more information, visit peoriaparks.org.

Flea market at Peoria Speedway

The Central Illinois Flea Market will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 14, at Peoria Speedway, 3520 W. Farmington Road. Items for sale include antiques, collectibles, boutique clothing, books, yard decor, home decor, art, plants and more. Admission is $2 and half of the admission proceeds will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Peoria.
