Queen Elizabeth Apparently Invited Harry & Meghan to Her Next Major Celebration
Queen Elizabeth will be making history once again next year when she celebrates 70 years on the throne. And according to reports, Her Majesty has already invited Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to the festivities.
Earlier this month, the official IG account of the royal family announced the plans for the 95-year-old’s Platinum Jubilee. “Her Majesty The Queen will celebrate her Platinum Jubilee from Thursday 2nd—Sunday 5th June 2022,” they captioned the slideshow. “The weekend will provide an opportunity for communities throughout the U.K. to come together to celebrate this historic milestone.”
According to The Daily Mail, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly planning to attend Trooping the Colour (Elizabeth’s official birthday parade). However, no word on whether or not they will be joining her and the rest of the royal family on the balcony to watch the celebration and wave as they do at every parade.
“The balcony moment will be decided much nearer the time but there's a limit to how many family members should be on it, and I would have thought that working Royals who contribute to the family would be higher on the list than the Sussexes,” a source told the outlet.
In addition, the duo reportedly plans on attending the events the rest of the weekend including a Service of Thanksgiving for the queen's reign held at St. Paul’s Cathedral. And on Saturday, the Derby at Epsom Downs will be held, along with a live concert at Buckingham Palace, while the final day will include the Big Jubilee Lunch and a pageant.
We know it’s a year away, but we’re already counting down the days.
