Queen Elizabeth Does Her Own Makeup, Just Like Meghan & Kate
Queen Elizabeth does her own makeup almost everyday, apart from when she's filming her annual Christmas speech.
The queen's dresser, Angela Kelly, has detailed many of the monarch's style secrets in a new book.
The queen joins Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, who are also known for regularly doing their own makeup.
If you've always thought that Queen Elizabeth has a classic and timeless look, then you're most definitely not alone. And according to the queen's longtime dresser, the monarch is responsible for much of her own iconic style.
In her new book, The Other Side of the Coin: The Queen, the Dresser and the Wardrobe, Angela Kelly revealed that the queen does her own makeup almost everyday. But there's one occasion each year when the queen hires a professional makeup artist, and that's for when she appears on camera to record her annual Christmas speech.
Per People, Kelly revealed in her new book that she hires makeup artist Marilyn Widdess to do the queen's makeup prior to filming the speech. Kelly wrote, "You might be surprised to know that this is the only occasion throughout the year when Her Majesty does not do her own makeup."
Kelly also opened up about caring for the queen's impressive collection of diamonds and tiaras, and explained "Gin and water are handy for giving the royal diamonds a little extra sparkle," via Daily Mail. Basically, Queen Elizabeth can teach us all a thing or two about fashion.
