Queen Letizia wears Zara again
Thanks to Zara, you no longer need a crown and title to look and feel like royalty. Kate Middleton has made it clear she’s a huge fan of the brand. And she’s not the only member of a royal family with a penchant for Zara’s frilly florals and clean lines. Queen Letizia of Spain loves the brand so much, she wears it around the house.
It makes sense that the Queen Letizia would support one of Spain’s most successful clothing brands. But opting for a line beloved by commoners just to wear around the house? That’s true love.
When you’re royalty, you apparently can’t just lounge around in sweats and a stained tee because your “house” is the palace. So your at-home apparel needs to match the settings — at least in look, if not in price. Which is why Zara is the ideal brand to wear when welcoming guests to the palace, like Queen Letizia did on Tuesday.
The beautiful brunette made the affordable brand look like high fashion while greeting guests at Zarzuela Palace. Instead of a bedazzled cloak and crown (that’s what we thought queens wear at home), the queen opted for Zara’s dusty green and pink floral midi dress with a round neckline, long sleeves, and elastic cuffs and waist. She paired the dress with maroon pumps that matched the flowers.
The feminine frock retails for $90. And somehow it’s still in stock. So, you could order it right now and be dressing like a queen in no time.
And we have proof her highness’s closet is stocked with Zara pieces: Over the summer, she wore a millennial pink frilly top with tiered ruffled sleeves and matching high-waisted flared trousers from the fast-fashion shop. And she doesn’t wear them just once and then toss them. She has an embroidered jacket from the brand that she’s sported on multiple occasions. The jacket, originally retailing for $169, was priced at a bargain $40 for Zara’s winter sales last year. Queen Letizia loves the label’s accessories too (who doesn’t?). In 2015, she wore royal blue gem-encrusted earrings that looked like they could have been part of a tiara set. Alas, they were $20 bucks from Zara’s accessories collection.
Zara isn’t the only affordable brand Queen Letizia has affection for — she shops Mango as well!
Of course, she balances out her closet with more couture items, like her fuchsia Marcos Luengo coat and her Nina Ricci dress. Then again … she repurposed that one, proving once and for all, royals are just like us (OK … not quite, but you get the point).
