On Saturday, the royal family revealed that they'd come to an agreement regarding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's decision to step down from their senior roles.
Harry's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, released a statement first, and spoke at length about her hopes for the Sussexes moving forward. In particular, the queen noted her admiration for Duchess Meghan.
Per the queen's statement, "I want to thank them for all their dedicated work across this country, the Commonwealth and beyond, and am particularly proud of how Meghan has so quickly become one of the family." It's undeniable that the Duchess of Sussex has worked diligently throughout her time in the royal family, especially showing her support for a number of female-focused projects.
The monarch also said, "It is my whole family's hope that today's agreement allows them to start building a happy and peaceful new life."
Queen Elizabeth also noted "the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years," and reiterated that she supports "their wish for a more independent life."
Regardless of where the Sussexes are based moving forward, it's clear that they have the entire support of the royal family behind them.
