Jonathan Van Ness rarely takes a day off. He's too busy, oh, filming the third season of the hit Netflix show Queer Eye, hosting his podcast Getting Curious, and generally being Instagram famous. But he recently went to Hawaii with his mom and some friends for much needed R&R.

And that may be because he feels a responsibility to make self-care a priority for all - not just his female audience. "Society doesn't teach men to do self-care. It's not girly, stupid, or too much," he explained to season two makeover recipient Leo Loria Rico.

What does he suggest we all do, exactly? "Self care means to me doing activities that make you feel lifted up and more whole than you did before," he tells GoodHousekeeping.com.

And we have good news, because his first two suggestions are totally FREE OF CHARGE. He says it's all about rethinking the beginning of your week.

Take a lazy Sunday all for yourself: "Go to a gorgeous yoga class, and then get a little brunch moment, and then after brunch turn on The Great British Bake Off." Sounds good to us!

Then use Monday to connect with people: "Why did she [Monday] get this bad reputation? We can connect with neighbors, we can meet new friends, and we can say hello to the people we love. We’re shifting the conversation around Monday; they’re actually kinda cute and doing the most!"

But of course - and we think Jonathan would agree - it's kinda fun to pop into the drugstore and pick a few new self-care essentials. Shop his favorites for $20 or less:
