The Real Reason 'The Good Doctor' Isn’t on This Week
Freddie Highmore as Dr. Shaun Murphy in 'The Good Doctor'
We're just two episodes into the seventh and final season of The Good Doctor, and already the show isn't on this week. But there's good reason for the schedule disruption, at least if you care about the 2024 election: ABC is instead running a Super Tuesday special at 10 p.m. hosted by journalist David Muir.

When will The Good Doctor be back?
Unfortunately, The Good Doctor won't be back with a new episode next week either, although ABC will air a rerun of the Season 7 premiere in the 9 p.m. time-slot usually reserved for The Rookie. The next new episode of the The Good Doctor will air on Tuesday, March 19 at 10 p.m. ET.
The show left off with Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) struggling to teach Charlie (Kayla Cromer), a new medical student who, like Shaun, has autism spectrum disorder. (She's also a hardcore Swiftie.)
The promo for episode 3 ("Critical Support") suggests that Shaun will continue to reject Charlie—until, perhaps, he realizes he's treating her the same way many of his colleagues treated him when he first arrived at St. Bonaventure (which is to say, poorly).

On a happier note, Shaun seems to be back on consistent speaking terms with Dr. Glassman (Richard Schiff) aka Grandpa.
