Rebel Wilson welcomes first child, Royce Lillian, via surrogate: 'She's a beautiful miracle'
"Pitch Perfect" star Rebel Wilson is "beyond proud" to share her first child, a girl named Royce Lillian, was born via surrogate in the past week.
"I can’t even describe the love I have for her, she’s a beautiful miracle," Wilson, 42, captioned an Instagram photo of the newborn in a light pink onesie and unicorn socks.
"I am forever grateful to everyone who has been involved, (you know who you are), this has been years in the making," she continued. "But particularly wanted to thank my gorgeous surrogate who carried her and birthed her with such grace and care. Thank you for helping me start my own family, it’s an amazing gift. The BEST gift!!"
Wilson has been open over the last few years about fertility issues and her health journey.
Wilson concluded: "I am ready to give little Roycie all the love imaginable. I am learning quickly…much respect to all the Mums out there! Proud to be in your club."
Last May, Wilson opened up in an emotional Instagram post about struggling with infertility. "I got some bad news today and didn’t have anyone to share it with...but I guess I gotta tell someone," she wrote. "To all the women out there struggling with fertility, I feel ya."
She shared the news alongside a somber photo of herself, dressed casually in a zip-up hoodie and dark pants, walking along the beach at sunset. She received an outpouring of support from fans and fellow stars in the comments, including actress Jillian Bell and comedian Chelsea Peretti.
The actress didn't share specifics, but added: "The universe works in mysterious ways and sometimes it all doesn’t make sense…but I hope there’s light about to shine through all the dark clouds."

Wilson didn't share any specifics about possible co-parenting plans. But over the summer, she debuted her new girlfriend, Ramona Agruma, in a selfie on Instagram during Pride Month. The couple last week launched a loungwear collection together, showing off sweet photos of the two embracing.
"I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince," Wilson captioned their relationship announcement. "But maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess." The actress added the hashtag "#loveislove" and a rainbow and heart emoji.
Wilson has also kept fans in the loop with some health updates and decisions over the last few years. After vowing to make 2020 her "year of health," she since shared with her weight loss journey as well as her struggles with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and her decision to freeze her eggs.
“I was thinking about fertility and having good quality eggs in the bank, so I was like, ‘OK, I’m going to do this, I’m going to get healthy,” Wilson said in an Instagram live video in December 2019.
She added: “As all good career women out there should know, if that’s something that interests you, it’s a pretty good time to do it. Getting to 40s is kind of even leaving it a little too late. It’s better to do it a bit earlier if you can.”
Wilson in 2019 revealed her struggles with PCOS, a condition that can cause irregular periods, weight gain, thinning hair and infertility, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine.
"I've been overweight for about 20 years. I started gaining weight when I was about 20. I had something called PCOS—polycystic ovarian syndrome—and I gained weight rapidly," she told E! News at the time. "It's just a hormone imbalance and you gain a lot of weight usually and that's how it manifested in me. Sometimes, I feel sad, but then at the same time, I worked my body to my advantage. I like being all sizes. It's just now turning 40, I am more health conscious and thinking of starting a family."
