'Pioneer Woman' Ree Drummond shares proud mom moment with foster son: 'Big big day!'

Ree Drummond introduced her foster son Jamar to the world back in December. Now, she’s sharing a proud mom moment with an announcement that the teen signed on to play football at the University of Central Oklahoma in the fall.

”Big big day!!” the chef and television personality known as the Pioneer Woman wrote on Instagram on Wednesday. “I’m so proud of [Jamar] and so grateful for his friends, coaches, and community for supporting him in countless ways. And I’m grateful for Jamar himself — his hard work, his commitment, and his presence in our family.”

Drummond first spoke about Jamar joining her family in her book Frontier Follies where she explained that the 18-year-old had recently transferred to the same school as her sons, Bryce and Todd, just outside of Pawhuska, Okla. The three of them got to know each other through football and now Jamar follows Bryce’s footsteps in being a college recruit.

Drummond’s eldest son, Bryce, graduated high school early to begin his football career at the University of North Texas where the family dropped him off in January. The family anticipated that they’d be going through a similar journey with Jamar just a few months after.

“I love my kids, I love what’s ahead for them, I love Ladd as we inch closer and closer to an empty nest,” she wrote on Instagram to celebrate the new year. “Bryce starts college next week... Jamar leaves this summer, then we’ll have Todd for two more years.”

And although Jamar isn’t leaving just yet, Drummond is already excited to be rooting him on throughout his college career.

“Go Jamar, and #ROLLCHOS!” she wrote.
