Ree Drummond Praises Valerie Bertinelli's 'Honesty' in 'Fat Clothes' Clip

Ree Drummond sang Valerie Bertinelli's praises following an inspiring new video the One Day at a Time alum shared on Instagram, in which she discussed the journey to loving her body.

In the clip, she explained, "Health is not a body size. Health is not the number you see on the scale. Your worth as a human being isn’t dictated by your body."

The sentiment was shared by many, including her fellow Food Network host, who applauded Bertinelli in the comments of the Oct. 2 upload.

"Valerie, your honesty is so beautiful and you won’t ever know the extent of the positive ripple effect these posts will have on the women, both young and not-so-young, who see them," Drummond, 54, replied in the comments.

On Monday, Bertinelli tried on the outfit she wore in the "before photo" for past Jenny Craig commercials–a pale pink button-up and pair of blue jeans, which she dubbed her "fat clothes"–and while posing in the mirror for fans, Bertinelli spoke candidly about how she's put in the work to change her opinion of health and self-worth over the years.

Recalling the not-too-distant past, the 63-year-old admitted, “I thought I was fat the last time I wore these clothes,” before noting how far she has come, saying, "I’ve never felt more beautiful, more at peace, more mentally and emotionally stable than I do today and I’m wearing my ‘fat clothes.’ That’s f----d up.”

Her openness continued in the caption, where Bertinelli shared that she's "been doing a lot of emotional and mental purging in the last year." She also acknowledged that self-care is a continuous process, writing, "I continue to work on not suppressing or numbing my feelings with food or alcohol and here I am. I am enough."

"Our bodies do not define who we are as human being’s," she continued, concluding, "A number on the scale does not define how much love your heart can hold. ?? Please love yourself, every single part of you. YOU ARE ENOUGH ?????."
