Kids and parents alike are obsessed with the holiday's 'coolest' toy under $25
There are basic remote control cars you can buy for your kids, and then there are next-level, jaw-dropping ones that you’ll want to play with too. The Terra-Sect RC, just $24.88 at Walmart.com, definitely falls into the latter category.
This toy looks like a souped-up car at first, but it has special technology that lets it coil up and roll to take down its target. The drone can drive, roll, flip and crawl in any direction — and it can seamlessly morph between vehicle and rolling machine. It includes a 2.4GHz controller with up to a 150-feet range for indoor and outdoor use, so your child can take it pretty much anywhere.
It’s also just really, really neat-looking. “This is the coolest,” exclaimed 9-year-old Wyatt Mulvena of Brooklyn, N.Y., after watching a YouTube review of the toy. “I’d be using it all day.”
Online reviewers are wowed by this toy
“It’s pretty cool,” Show and Tell Toys tells its 645,000 subscribers on YouTube. The red glowing eyes in the front of the drone, which give it an alien feel, were also a big hit. Have batteries handy: The drone runs on four AA batteries, and the remote controller takes three AAA batteries.
The toy reviewer also took the drone outside to show how well it moves on roads and sidewalks (very).
“My daughter really enjoyed playing with this remote control toy,” one reviewer wrote on Walmart.com. “We like that it had different modes of play. I can totally see my husband taking this over and playing with it on the driveway.”
The Terra-Sect RC is also really good at righting itself when it flips over, another reviewer pointed out. “The best part is that the car can correct itself so there is no need to go retrieve the vehicle to get it unstuck or flip it over,” the person wrote.
Another reviewer said that it’s “pretty cool that it rolls as well as drives like a car.” “I would definitely recommend this to other parents,” one reviewer chimed in.
The Terra-Sect RC is just $24.88 at Walmart.com — a pretty amazing price for a drone that does all that.
