Who owns Savores Grill House?

Owners Jessica Chacin and her husband, Alfred Acosta, are from Maracaibo, Venezuela. They moved to the U.S. about 11 years ago. They started with a food truck last year and wanted to open a brick-and-mortar restaurant.

They plan to keep the food truck at Sunshine Pharmacy on the southwest corner of U.S. 1 and 20th Street in Vero Beach. "We want to bring another opportunity for different options," Chacin said.

They serve authentic Venezuelan street food, all of which is hand-made daily, she said. They plan to have specials and add weekly events, such as karaoke and live music.

  • Arepas: grilled or fried; meat options of shredded beef, pork, grilled chicken or reina pepiada

  • Empanadas: deep-fried cornmeal turnover filled with meat or cheese; filling options of shredded beef, chicken, pabellón, cheese, ham and cheese, potato and cheese

  • Patacón: deep-fried flattened plantain sandwich filled with meat, pico de gallo, tártara dressing and grated fresh cheese; meat options of shredded beef, pork, grilled chicken
